The Court Systems Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating justice initiatives to improve outcomes for families who are victims of interpersonal family violence (including adults who have experienced domestic violence). This position will have a particular focus on city and county efforts to improve court and law enforcement responses to victims, including restorative justice initiatives as well as alternative strategies to traditional law enforcement response.

M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (some evenings required)

Responsibilities:

  • Drives development, implementation, and evaluation of the agency’s strategic initiatives to expand partnerships with courts, law enforcement and justice systems responding to families who have experienced interpersonal violence.
  • Coordinates the Center’s court-related initiatives in researching and analyzing trends, developing policy agendas, building collaborations across systems, and providing technical assistance on justice efforts.
  • Builds effective partnerships with representatives, community agencies including local and state-wide legal systems, family violence programs, social services, and organizations working for racial justice.
  • Represents the agency in local, statewide, and national stakeholder task forces and conferences, including public speaking as requested.
  • Engages law enforcement and community partners in enhancing TCFSH’s role in coordinated community response to family violence.
  • Participate in problem solving internally and with staff and program partners to ensure high quality services are delivered to TCFSH families.
  • Write and submit grant proposals, manage justice related grants to ensure goals and objectives are met and program activities comply with funding requirements.
  • Maintains an environment of safety and inclusion for clients, self, and others and supports patient safety initiatives with knowledge and oversight of TCFSH and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) policies and protocols.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, criminal justice, public policy, public health, public administration, or related field required.

Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated experience all aspects of program coordination including program oversight, budget/grant development and monitoring, program planning, public speaking, meeting facilitation and team leadership.
  • Significant previous experience in family violence advocacy. Relationships within the criminal justice system and civil legal systems in Franklin County preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in public policy, civil and criminal justice systems including restorative/transformative justice.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Detail-orientated and self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal, collaborative, and communicative skillsets.
  • Knowledge of interpersonal family violence, legal systems and advocacy interventions.
  • Ability to use sound judgment, make ethically driven decisions and utilize authority in doing so. Including proper handling of highly confidential material.
  • Capacity to draft and interpret policies and protocols.
